This summer, our community was torn apart by heartbreak. The tragedy that struck the Texas Hill Country on July 4th reached closer to home than any of us could have imagined. Of the twenty-seven radiant girls whose lives were lost in the floods, eleven were from right here in Houston — daughters of our city, woven into our neighborhoods, our schools, our churches, our fields, and our families.
The grief that swept through Houston was deep and devastating, yet even in that darkness, light began to break through. It changed the sound of our days and the rhythm of our hearts. But even in the deepest sorrow, God’s presence has never left us. His comfort has met us in our tears, and His light continues to rise through the lives and legacies of these girls we love.
In partnership with the eleven Houston families who lost their beloved daughters, we have humbly co-designed the Houston Heavens Bracelet — born from heartbreak and hope. Each soft-woven band carries the initials of our eleven Houston girls — a small symbol of remembrance and an enduring invitation to live as they lived: with joy, faith, courage, friendship, and light.
