The images we are seeing are devastating. The complete destruction is overwhelming. The rising death toll is beyond all comprehension. The needs are great and immediate. When witnessing fellow brothers and sisters standing in the face of calamity, loss, heartache, despair, pain, anguish and desperation — we must use the most powerful resource at our disposable — to BOLDLY approach the Throne of Grace with CONFIDENCE, rattle the gates of Heaven, stand in the gap and intercede for the Turkish and Syrian People. Calling all prayer warriors to help cover our brothers and sisters throughout this region. Pray for God’s protection over His people, hope in spite of abominable circumstances and perseverance despite this tremendous suffering.

3. Bring new or gently used blankets and jackets — of all sizes — and drop off here at Golden Thread. They are experiencing freezing temperatures in that region and most people are displaced and sleeping outside. We will get these items to the Turkish Consulate here in Houston. Turkish Airlines has been cleared to deliver these items to Turkey free of cost.
4. If you are not being called to give, we ask that you join us in prayer! From shelter to food and warm clothing, the needs are enormous – but prayer makes a difference!
In the face of unspeakable tragedy, the suffering of those in this community, and the destruction and loss of life in Syria and Turkey, we pray what the Psalmist wrote in Psalm 10:12— “Arise, Lord! Lift up your hand, Oh God. Do not forget the helpless!”
